Andy has worked as a field forester, a landowner assistance forester and logger, and has been on the forest science faculties of several universities, including the University of Maine and Laval University (Quebec). He has worked internationally, including as a Fulbright Scholar in Nepal and, more recently, in the Dominican Republic with Partners of the Americas.

Kent moved to New Mexico in 1996, and worked here and internationally as a consulting forester before coming to work for FWRI. He has degrees from NC State, Colorado State, and Clemson, and has worked for Weyerhaeuser, the Peace Corps, the University of Missouri, Auburn University, Virginia Tech, and Cornell University.

Josie is currently the Administrative Associate for the NM Forest and Watershed Restoration Institute. She has been an employee with NM Highlands University for the past 12 years.

Ron Ortega

As a NMFWRI Forester, Ron's work is primarily in field activities associated with monitoring Forest Restoration projects. Additionally, he has an active involvement with the Forest Worker Safety Program. Ron's forest experience, aside from education, comes from over twenty years of business in farming, logging, thinning, sawmill & firewood operations and timber consulting.

Patti is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist at the NM Forest and Watershed Restoration Institute. Patti's background includes working with GIS and Remote Sensing technologies for agricultural and wetlands applications at the University of Nebraska. Currently in New Mexico she works with GPS and GIS for forest monitoring and mapping applications.

Joe is currently a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist at the NM Forest and Watershed Restoration Institute which is housed at NM Highlands University. In his previous Air Force career, Joe held a variety of leadership and staff positions related to Defense Department mapping and charting activities.
